Privacy policy (all of lazetool.com)
This page covers what is common to the whole domain: advertising, cookies, traffic statistics, IP addresses, map services, location. How each tool handles the photos you upload is in that tool's own policy (links at the bottom). Last updated 2026-08-21.
Scope
All pages under lazetool.com: the lazetool home page and notes, Old Photo Motion, age-me, the Road Accident Heatmap, the Campsite Legality Check and the Flood Potential Map.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site shows Google AdSense ads. Google and its partners use cookies (including DoubleClick advertising cookies) to serve ads based on your browsing and to measure them; those cookies are set and read by Google, not by this site. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. How Google uses data from partner sites is explained here.
Cookies this site sets itself (functional only)
wf_uid: a random identifier so the photo tools can reconnect you to your job after you close the page; it contains no personal information.- Login session cookie: only after you register and sign in to a photo tool.
wf_lang: your chosen language.
The data tools (accidents, campsites, flood) set no cookies of their own; your map preferences (base map, opacity) are kept in the browser's localStorage and never sent to the server. Clearing browser data removes all of it.
Traffic statistics
The server keeps only basic counts: page views, distinct visitors per day, jobs generated, referring sites. No Google Analytics and no third-party analytics script. The counts are not linked to cookies or accounts and exist only to judge whether a tool is worth maintaining.
IP addresses
IP addresses are used for three things only: the daily free allowance of the photo tools, blocking abuse (bursts of requests), and server error logs. They are not used to identify "who is who" (people behind the same network share an IP) or for personalisation. The site is served through Cloudflare, which sees your IP and applies its caching and protection — see the Cloudflare privacy policy.
What map services receive
- Base map: tiles for the three data tools come from OpenFreeMap (OpenStreetMap data). Your browser requests tiles from it directly, so it receives your IP and the map area you are viewing; this site does not forward where you looked to anyone.
- Flood potential tiles are generated by this site's own server, with no third party.
- Street View: only when you press "Street View" does the browser contact Google Maps (new tab or embed); at that moment Google receives the coordinate request and your IP. Nothing is sent if you do not press it.
- The campsite tool's "check on the official site" links open a government website governed by its own policy.
Location permission
The "Locate" button on the map tools asks the browser for one-off location access, only when pressed, and uses it only to move the map near you and query that point; the location is not stored and not sent to the server beyond the coordinates of that one query (the same request as clicking anywhere on the map). You can decline or revoke it in the browser at any time.
Per-tool data handling
- Old Photo Motion: how uploads and videos are stored, the seven-day deletion, who can see them
- age-me: photo processing and retention
- Road Accident Heatmap: data source and limitations (nothing is uploaded)
- Campsite Legality Check: source and limitations (nothing is uploaded)
- Flood Potential Map: source and limitations (nothing is uploaded)
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
